Quick Installation Guide - iVEST™ Client 4.0 for Windows Vista
( Upgrade from v3.x to v4.0)

System Requirements:

Operation Systems: Windows Vista (only)

Reader Model: EZ100PU and ACR38T

Web Browser for iVEST™ Client:

Netscape (version 7.0, 7.2, 8.0, 9.0.06), Internet Explorer (version 5.0 and above), Firefox (version 2.0 and above) and Mozilla (version 1.7 and above)

Web Browser for XBrowser:

Netscape (version 7.0, 7.2, 8.0, 9.0.06) and Internet Explorer (version 5.0 and above)

IMPORTANT Notes:

This installation MUST be done, clean, on a VISTA desktops that has not previously been installed with an older version of iVEST™ Client. This is because installing software which is not supported by the OS will conflict the Windows system files.

If you have accidentally installed an older version of iVEST™ Client on your Vista, please follow these steps:

  1. Perform a system restore to restore back your machine to the point where an older version of iVEST™ Client is not yet install
  2. Re-start PC
  3. Install iVEST™ Client 4.0

Another option, you may reformat your machine and reinstall Windows Vista.

Installation Step:

Notes:
- Close all browsers before installation starts
- Please ensure to download iVEST™ Client 4.0 with iVEST™ Client 3.0 pre-installed on Windows XP or below. An authentication will be done with your iVEST Smartcard during the downloading process

  1. Plug-in the iVEST™ Smartcard reader and install the iVEST™ Smartcard Reader driver.
  2. Download iVEST™ Client 4.0 installer
  3. Save the file at your desktop then transfer the file to your Windows Vista machine
  4. Double click the iVEST™ Client 4.0 installer file
  5. The screens will guide you through the installation process
  6. Restart PC after installation is done
