What is iVEST™ File ? iVEST™ File is a very useful secure storage system which encrypt file(s) for secure transmission through the Internet. iVEST™ File made it easy for user to securely sign, verify, encrypt and decrypt these files by completely eliminating any possibility of theft. Based on Public Key Infrastructure, it incorporates the best cryptographic techniques, which use a highly reliable user authentication; data confidentiality, integrity & non-repudiation; and legally binding digital signatures. iVEST™ File is dependent to iVEST™ Client 3.0 software. iVEST™ File unable to install or function on a machine that do not have iVEST™ Client 3.0. --------------------------------------------------------- 2.0. Uninstall iVEST™ File first before uninstall iVEST™ Client. 4.2. Reinstall iVEST™ Client (with iVEST™ File already exist), will remove iVEST™ File. 4.3. User certificate is only visible in iVEST™ Certificate Manager. It's not visible during iVEST™ File Select Certificate or iVEST™ Search Certificate windows. 4.4. If temporary ign files created eg. ~mydoc.ign, it's safe to delete from your system. 4.5. iVEST™ File does not only check for the filename but take the file path into consideration also. Hence 2 similar files with the same file names but located in different directories can be selected at one time. 4.6. During iVEST™ File installation/ uninstallation, iVEST™ Gate & iProxy will be terminated automatically if it's still running --------------------------------------------------------- 5.0. Known Problems in iVEST™ File 3.1. 5.1. Using Windows Explorer to sign and encrypt several files at one time may cause this error message "C:\Program Files\MIMOS\iVEST File\ivf.exe: Access to specified device, path, or files is denied" to prompt up. The numbers of files limit may vary, depending on the OS and machine specification. WORKAROUND: Use iVEST™ File Windows method instead. --------------------------------------------------------- 6.0. Third Party Problems related to iVEST™ File 3.1. 6.1. When right-click file to sign/encrypt at Windows Explorer, if iVEST File is not listed in the menu, it's required to install vcredist.exe by Microsoft. Applicable for Windows 98 and NT 4.0 systems only. For advance information, please refer to: Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 259403 6.2. Error message "Your memory is too low ... " prompted by the Windows system during encryption or decryption means the system is insufficient of RAM. 6.3. ivf.ocx failed to unregistered during uninstallation on Windows ME only.
