iVEST, MIMOS BERHAD is the registration authority (RA) to provide issuance services of DIGITAL CERTIFICATES to the public and organisations. There are mainly two (2) types of digital certificates:-

1. DIGISIGN™ ID BASIC / ENHANCED, for the user (using iVEST Client software)
2. DIGISIGN iVEST SERVER ID, for the server (iVEST Server software)

These certificates are basically your (or your organisation's) Digital ID on the Internet. The user's certificate will be stored inside the RSA smart card chip-in the iVESTcard or MyKad, which is much more secure unlike the soft cert stored in PC, where someone will be able to extract the certificate information very easily.

RSA (Ron Rivest, Adi Shamir and Leonard Adleman) is an algorithm for public-key cryptography . It was the first algorithm known to be suitable for signing as well as encryption, and one of the first great advances in public key cryptography. RSA is widely used in electronic commerce protocols, and is believed to be secure given sufficiently long keys and the use of up-to-date implementations.

The smart card (authentication token) is a one of the key components in the iVEST™ Client Kit package. Also included in the package is the smart card reader and iVEST client software.
